TripAdvisor Survey Reveals That Mobile Devices Make Good Travel Companions

At CoPilot Live, we’d say this is a given but TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site, went out and proved it! In a survey of 1000 US users*, just over half (52%) responded that they used their mobile device for navigation, with the same number also stating that they used their mobile for researching restaurants as part of the travel planning process.

Of course, if they are equipped with CoPilot Live, they can use the same app to do both! With thousands of Points Of Interest including restaurants, CoPilot Live can help you find the flavour you want, wherever you happen to be.

 Careful when you roam

47% of respondents had also used their smartphones internationally. In these cases, if they were using navigation, we’re hoping it was one with an app connected to free to use GPS, with the maps stored on their device. Otherwise, they could be coming home to a rather unpleasant smartphone bill!

The reason? The rental car companies usually charge a fee if you don’t fill up before dropping off. And according to a report in USA Today, that fee has, in some cases, gotten a lot steeper.
