The latest NAVTEQ maps will be available on iPhone, Android and Windows Mobiles apps
London, 15th December 2010. ALK Technologies Ltd is pleased to announce a free map update for CoPilot Live v8 customers in Europe. Working with European map partner NAVTEQ, the update brings the most accurate street maps and points of interest available to help customers navigate with confidence this Christmas.
In a recent poll, ALK asked existing users to choose the feature that they would most like to see added to CoPilot Live, and almost 70% of respondents voted for updated maps. The free map update comes just in time for the busy Christmas travelling period and will be available to customers as a download for CoPilot Live v8 for iPhone, Android and Windows Mobile European apps. As with all CoPilot Live products, the maps are stored locally on the phone or on a memory card, not downloaded each trip.
Michael Kornhauser, Managing Director, CoPilot Live Navigation says “We are committed to providing our customers with the best on-board satellite navigation experience for smartphones and tablet devices. We have received some great feedback over the past year, and it’s great to be able to give something back to our loyal European customers with a free map update.”
Contacts Navigation in Android
In addition to the free European map update, customers running CoPilot Live v8 on many Android devices will also be now able to navigate to a contact from their phone’s address book as a convenient way to enter a destination. This feature requires Android OS v2.2 “Froyo” and above.
The free update is available immediately for Android and Windows Mobile customers through the Android Market and through CoPilot Central 2.0 Desktop Software.
An app update for customers with CoPilot Live for iPhone or iPad has been submitted to the iTunes App Store and will be released when approved by Apple.
