England: Hopefully, not the final road

And so after Friday’s lack lustre performance its more with hope than expectation that our thoughts turn to the final game for England in the Group Stages of the World Cup.

England’s only previous match against Slovenia was in September 2009 which England won  2-1.

So this game should be a formality, right?

Formed in 1991, Slovenia is Europe’s youngest country – but in this short time, they have managed some notable football success, having qualified for the World Cup in 2002 and now in 2010. Recent International scalps included Italy and Russia. The latter they defeated to secure their place this year.

If you’re in South Africa with confidence  unbowed and determined to follow England by road to the final group game, here you won’t need to worry about the route at least. We’ve put together detailed directions to help you get from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth.

If on the other hand you happen to be watching the game in Slovenia or surrounded by Slovenian fans, we’ve assembled some useful phrases for you:

That was off side To je bilo off stran
Referee, are you blind? Sodnik, ste slepi?
Penalty! Kazen!
Yellow card, surely? Yumeni karton, zagotovo?
Goal! Cilj!
