We’ve got a brand new look and feel in our latest app update. We’re still the same dependable CoPilot you can count on – just better looking. So if you were going as your favorite mobile navigation app, CoPilot, for Halloween this year then you need to read this.
We’ve refreshed and revamped our insides for seamless iOS 7 integration, added two new map displays to choose from (Fibonacci Grey and Minimalist) and we’ve got a new feature!
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome:
The new “Motion Lock” feature enables you to choose the minimum travel speed at which the map becomes locked for safer, hands free driving. Speeds can be set at 5, 10, 15 or 20 mph in “Settings.” You can decide whether you want to use it or not (fully optional!), but this new feature helps you to stay focused on the road while CoPilot directs you to your destination. The much anticipated Apple event yesterday provided more details on what Tim Cook described as the OS that will “quickly become the world’s most popular operating system.” We first got a peek at iOS 7 back in June and it appears the early buzz was pretty much on the money. The shiny (or should we say flatter) new mobile OS delivers a complete visual overhaul with an all-new user interface, Control Center, smarter multi-tasking, iTunes Radio and an improved Siri now available in male or female voices.
The new look of iOS 7 features a slightly translucent-looking keyboard, redesigned icons and new buttons. It’s a clear move away from the textured “skeumorphic” approach in previous iOS versions, where graphics were designed to emulate the “real world” (you won’t see the felt table cover in game center and leather stitching in Calendar). It’s clearly going to have implications for developers, many of whom will likely update their apps to compliment the new style.
iOS 7’s new Control Center adds the highly requested (and presently offered by rivals) quick access toggle bars to control brightness, switch-on flashlight, turn on airplane mode and do not disturb. iOS 7 also brings new ways to discover apps and allows automatic app updates. This means CoPilot users will be able to download our latest app updates without taking any action. If you still prefer to see the “What’s New” info to see firsthand what we’ve improved or added, you can always switch automatic updates off. The choice is yours!
iOS 7 will be available as a free download for iPhone 4, 4s and 5 from September 18th. It will also be available for iPad (iPad 2 or later), iPad Mini and iPod Touch (5th generation) although apparently owners of these devices may need to wait till October.
We were also formally introduced to the iPhone 5S and 5C. Both new devices will be available on September 20th with pre-orders for 5C starting this Friday, Sept. 13th. We’ve been excited to see (and get our hands on) both devices up close and personal for some time and will report more on them later this week.
Our verdict? As you can imagine here at CoPilot, we’re Apple fans and so it’s great to see iOS get a full make-over. For many existing iOS iPhone, iPad and iPod owners, it’s going to feel a bit like getting a new device. To celebrate its arrival, we’ve got a few cool things in store for you. So stay tuned over the next few weeks!
Football season is back! Whether it be college or pro, we know many of you are headed to the stadiums to cheer on your favorite team. Face paint? Check. Tailgating must-haves? Check. Traffic? Don’t forget to check!
Use ActiveTraffic™ to make sure you won’t miss any of the action!
There are over 145 stadiums in the United States, all with their own unique atmosphere. Looking to find the stadium that offers a little more than football? Here’s a list to get you started:
Scenic Sports Spectator:
If you’re nice or nautical, try “sailgating” at Husky Stadium. If boats aren’t your thing, head to the CenturyLink Stadium to catch the SeaHawks play. This Seattle staple is home to over 30 craft beers so if you’re not enjoying the game, you can at least enjoy a variety of beer.
Foodie Football Fans:
Surprisingly, the same place that you can find an authentic Philly cheesesteak is the same stadium PETA touts as the #1 most vegetarian friendly stadium. Lincoln Financial Field offers up great local cuisine from the city of Brotherly Love including soft, warm donuts by neighborhood favorite Federal Donuts.
Preservers of Pigskin Past:
If you’re looking to get some history out of your football experience, why not head to the Superdome in New Orleans? This place has hosted more Super Bowls than any other stadium and is surrounded by a city rich in culture and American history. Or you could catch a game at High Points Solution Stadium at Rutgers University, the birthplace of college football.
No matter which Gridiron Gang you belong to, we hope you make it to and from the stadium with ease. Enjoy the game!

CoPilot Live and Jibbigo apps make travel abroad easier by Adam Balkin
“But, a big advantage of this one is the maps can all be stored within your phone so you don’t need a data connection. That’s great if you aren’t getting a signal wherever you happen to be or if you are paying a fortune for data services. ” Read More

In need of Labor Day Weekend plans? Take a look at these three extraordinary, unique beaches for fun on the last weekend in summer.
Want to visit a picturesque white sand beach? Head to Gulf State Park, Alabama. You get the best of vacations here – swimming in the Gulf and seven miles of hiking trails!

Wherever you decide to spend Labor Day, we hope you have a safe and happy travels. Until next time, summer travelers! We’ll start gearing up for fall!
Now that you’re out on your own, you’re quickly realizing just how much things cost. It’s easy to take for granted simple things from your parents house but if you have a smartphone or a tablet, simple tricks can help you avoid spending money for the simpler pleasures in life.
No need for expensive speakers! Stick your smartphone inside an empty glass or plastic bottle to blast tunes during a study break.
No TV? No worries! Use 3M hooks to mount a smartphone or tablet. It’s not the same as 72” screen but it gets the job done.
Ebooks over Textbooks! Check and see if your 1,000 page textbook is available in e-book form. It’ll not only save you time but also keep you from lugging around huge books from class to class.
And don’t forget this tried and true testament to laziness for your dorm room desk. You’re welcome.
And if you’re still strapped for cash, win an iTunes gift card with our Instagram contest. Details here.
