Updated and corrected Tunnel mode and other fixes
Following their exciting WWDC conference, Apple has made some changes to the requirements for detecting devices. Our CoPilot team has adjusted our process accordingly which means that all future app updates will work with devices equipped with iOS 6.0 or greater.
Most of our users will be unaffected because every iPhone is that CoPilot runs on has iOS 6. If you have iOS 5, we strongly recommend updating to iOS 6 to continue using CoPilot and receiving all of our future updates.
For iPad (1st Generation) customers who are unable to update to a newer OS version: you can of course continue to use your CoPilot app exactly as before, but will be unable to update to a newer version of CoPilot on that device. You may wish to download the current app from the App Store to iTunes on your computer as a backup should you need it, as you may be unable to download and install it from the App Store to your device.
If you get a new iPad in the future, you’ll be able to simply re-download from the App Store and login to continue using it – and get future app updates.
Warm weather leads to outdoor fun and what’s a better way to spend your day then riding roller coasters? Amusement Parks can be an overwhelming place but with your CoPilot app and a few of our tips, we think you can get a pretty good handle on this massive carnival.
Check the weather: Use CoPilot to check the weather before you leave, that way you can dress accordingly. It’s always a good idea to bring layers in case the weather changes once you arrive.
Charging Case: Along with using CoPilot’s power saving mode, it may be worth it to invest in a case that protects and charges your phone if you’re going to be out of the house for hours at a time.
Waterproof your device…sorta: Keep your phone in a clear, plastic zip lock bag to ensure that it won’t get too wet when you’re on a water ride.
Map out the park: You know how to navigate, you use CoPilot after all! It’s easier to know where you’re headed before you get there and it saves time too! Another useful hint: Start at the back of the park and work your way to the front. Most parkgoers will start at the first ride they see which leads to long wait times for you!
Always pick a spot to meet: If anyone from your group should get lost, make sure to designate a place to meet.
We’ve been working hard behind the scenes this month to bring you new and exciting updates to your CoPilot app! We hope you enjoyed our Memorial Day Sale and found some great places to spend your long weekend.
Here’s a comprehensive roundup of all the great reactions CoPilot received this month. Many thanks to everyone who took the time to write about us, we appreciate your support!
Hit the road with these 11 road trip apps for Android, iOS
“If you happen to find yourself off the grid, having a secondary offline navigation app like CoPilot GPS can be a lifesaver. Just be sure to download the free maps for the areas you plan to travel to before you hit the road; you’ll only have to sacrifice a few gigs of storage space.”
With any smartphone or tablet, battery life is a hot commodity meant to be rationed by any means necessary. Rest assured, CoPilot users, we know and understand this logic and have given you a way to save on power while navigating. In addition to lowering screen brightness and turning off vibrate mode, CoPilot offers a way to help reduce the amount of battery used.
Inside the CoPilot app, you can go to Settings and choose Power Saving. Once there, choose a lower setting which will move the map display fewer times per second and help save your battery.
If you’re using CoPilot in the car, it’s best to keep a car charger handy too. Need more ways to save battery? Check out this video by MinuteHacks:
If you’re looking to hit the road with multiple destinations, CoPilot’s Trip Optimization feature will help you save time and money no matter how many stops you have.
The Trip Optimization feature allows you to plan for 20 different stops which is especially helpful if you’ve volunteered to chauffer your friends to college open houses this weekend. Continue reading →
