Mt. Desert Ice Cream can easily be confused as Mt. Dessert! Their flavors include: Maine sea salt caramel, Bay of Figs, and toasted coconut. Speaking of toasted coconut…President Obama and his family have visited the ice cream shop and he thought he’d give the coconut a try!

Signature Item: Strawberry Ice Cream

Certified organic ice cream from the milk to the fruit! Blue Marble features unique flavors such as: pistachio almond, corn, and apple cider sorbet. Also includes a kid’s playroom and small seating so you can enjoy your delicious treat.

Signature Item: Cherries Moobilee (made with local cherries)

Moomer’s features a deck overlooking grazing cows and has a complimenting cow-themed menu. They have a wide variety of flavors such as: apricot, licorice, and even blue moon flavored ice cream.

New Orleans, LA: The Creole Creamery


Signature Item: Creole Cream Cheese Ice Cream (local curdled cream cheese)

Eat Ice Cream, Be Happy! That’s the motto of this retro fountain shop classic. They feature banana splits, sundaes, and rotating ice cream flavors including: avocado and cream, banana and brown sugar cheesecake, and ginger peach.

San Rafael, CA: Three Twins Organic Ice Cream


Signature Item: Strawberry Je Ne Sais Quoi (Strawberry with a splash of balsamic vinegar)

With a creative name like Three Twins one has to expect creative flavors. The owner, Neal Gottlieb, is big on sustainability. He uses only local ingredients for his interesting flavors such as chocolate orange confetti and lemon cookie. All bowls and utensils are compostable. His shop’s emissions offset with renewable energy certificates. Talk about Go Green!

Missoula, MT: Big Dipper Ice Cream


Signature Item: Huckleberry (local berries)

With their out of this world menu some of their flavors include: El Salvador coffee, green tea, and maple walnut. Also look out for their yellow ice cream trucks!


How to access Yelp reviews within CoPilot:

 Tap Points of Interest – – and then use the search bar to find your multi-star ice cream joint! Don’t forget to set your search location! If you aren’t searching nearby you’ll need to have the city name ready.


Once you find what you’re looking for tap on it and you’ll be brought to a screen where you can read the reviews or tap Go to begin your summer drive.



[UPDATE] IMPORTANT Info regarding CoPilot GPS App Update on iPhone/iPad

[UPDATE: Tuesday, 23:00]

Great news! Apple have fixed the issue with the CoPilot GPS app update not installing after downloading. You can now download and install it on your iPhone or iPad:

  1. Please launch the App Store on your iPhone/iPad and make sure you have your WIFI activated
  2. In case you deleted the CoPilot GPS app, please find it on the App Store and download it. In case you did NOT delete the CoPilot GPS app, simply download the app.
  3. You can now use your CoPilot GPS app again

Again, thank you for your patience while we worked with Apple to fix the issue.


[Update: Monday 2:00pm]

Thank you for your continued patience. We are still working together with Apple to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Some users reported they could stop the update and continue to use the older version of the GPS app with the following tip. These steps could be working if you started the update on your iPhone/iPad and did NOT delete the app:

  • Open your App Store on your iPhone/iPad and go to “Updates”
  • If you started the app update, hit the stop button in the update circle next to the CoPilot GPS icon
  • Close the App Store app
  • Launch the existing CoPilot GPS app

We are sorry for the inconvenience you’re experiencing and hope to have a permanent fix soon.  We will continue to provide you frequent updates on our progress.

Unfortunately there is a problem with this update that occurs when trying to download the app directly through your iPhone / iPad’s App Store.

The good news is that you can still install the update via iTunes on a computer. To do this:

1) Delete the app

2) Restart your device

3) Download the app via iTunes on your computer

4) Connect your iPhone / iPad to your computer

5) Reinstall the app

Important update regarding your CoPilot iOS GPS App


We are still working with Apple to find a permanent solution for the issue. We will be posting frequent updates here: As we work on a resolution, we do want to strongly recommend you DO NOT INSTALL the CoPilot GPS app update or delete your existing app at this time. If you have already done so, please follow the steps in the post below to update the app via iTunes.


We understand this may not work for everyone as you may not have iTunes or access to it immediately so we are working as hard as we can to find an alternative fix.


We can’t thank you enough for your patience as we work with Apple to get this fixed.  We are doing everything we can to have you on the road with your CoPilot navigation as soon as possible.
