Tip and Trick – Alternate Routing

Whether it is traffic, construction or just a matter of mixing up your commute, By using CoPilot Live alternate routes, it makes your driving experience that much easier.

CoPilot Live will always try to find the best way to your destination. Since its introduction in the new version, the concept behind Alternate Routes is to help our customers refine the way they want to travel by providing up to three alternative routes with details about the distance and journey time for each.

Combine this with the optional ActiveTraffic™ service, and CoPilot Live Premium will calculate the fastest route based on real-time traffic speeds.

In addition to this, a recent update to CoPilot Live Premium and Standard now brings the ability to drill into each suggested route and see a full list of turn instructions, from current location, to destination. So you can easily see where the differences are between Route 1, 2 and 3.

To access Alternate routes turn list:

Address > Enter destination > Alternate > Select from ‘Current’, ‘Alternate 1’ or ‘Alternate 2’ > List for a turn itinerary of driving instructions

It’s just another way in which we’re helping our customers choose the route that suits them best.

Look out for further innovation relating to Alternate Routes in the near future.

Hmm. When i open CoPilot Live (on my Droid phone) I can enter an address but there is no “Alternate” option.

    Hi Lize

If you are launching CoPilot Live then go into Menu, Go To, Address. Then enter your zip code, street name, and street number. You should then see the screen that is attached. There should be an ‘Alternate’ button on the bottom of the screen next to ‘Go’.

If you still do not have that, I would advise you to contact support so that we can get a screen shot and work with you from there.
