Still a big (insert word here) to your truck customers I see. NO UPDATES in 3+ years. You never followed through on any of the improvements (themes, map, etc) you promised. For what we drivers spent for your product at least one update would have been nice, considering you made your name as a truck routing/dispatch service (PC Miler.) Add to that the “oh you have a copy of Copilot 11 Laptop that has LIVE, you shouldn’t be able to use that feature and should remove it, we won’t provide support to you” attitude I got from customer service and your twitter, I’ll not be buying or recommending you or any of your products to anyone and I’ll relay the same story to anyone I talk to about your product. Is the routing good? Sure, but the service and support for trucker (insert word here). Want to change my mind? you have my email address and on twitter I’m revbryon701. If it doesn’t matter to you, well, you’ve shown that side already…

Hi Bryon: We’re sorry for your frustrations but as we’ve stated numerous times we are not providing updates for the CoPilot Truck 11 product anymore as we have released a new version CoPilot Live v8 Truck.

After updating my United States maps and restarting Copilot, I’m greeted with the following error message: POI set copilot_infousa_premium – Version does not match network version.

Also, checking for updates afterwards indicates that Copilot is up to date. Yet a MapSure monthly update has also been announced here, and supposedly requires this quarterly release to be installed, which tells me that the update is not included in this release.

I’m going to delete the maps and re-download them (why does this take 2+ hours over a broadband connection?) and see what happens.

    Hi UncleMike,

We are now aware of the POI issue, thank you for alerting us. We are working on the fix right now and will be releasing an app update to fix the issue ASAP. I’m sorry for the inconvenience. Can you also confirm what device you’re running CoPilot on, I believe it is iPhone but want to make sure?

As for the map update, did you download the latest app update from iTunes? You can check to make sure you have the quarterly map data by going to MENU > Settings > About. Next to data, you should see ALK.NA 2010.04.xxxx. If you do, then you definitely have the Q4 map data. We are hearing that some iPhone users are having an issue with the Monthly MapSure update downloading to the device. You may be experiencing that as well. We’ve fixed this and it will be available in the update that I mentioned above. We are trying to get this update to you right away, we appreciate your patience.

    Thank you,
    Devon

I am getting the same error and have updated the maps on my CoPilot 8 laptop version. I also noticed a road that I travel close to my home was incorrectly renamed and dead-ended into a cornfield? It was fine before.

        Hi Shaw,

Is there error you’re referring to, the POI error message: POI set copilot_infousa_premium – Version does not match network version?

Also regarding the road, can you send us the specific details – road name, city, state, zip so we can look into it?

        Thank you,
        Devon

Yes it is the POI error at every startup.

The road I was talking about is Stearns School Road from IL route 45 to U.S. 41 starting at Lindenhurst, IL 60046. Before this update the road was correct. I use your product daily driving around Chicagoland daily. Thanks so much.

Shaw – Thank you for the detalied information. I’ll pass it along to our MapSure team to correct.

Regarding the POI error, we are working on a fix for that right now and will have an update available for you very soon.

            Hi Shaw,

Just an update, our MapSure team does see that some of the road now has the wrong name and they will fix that in this month’s MapSure updates. I submitted the request under your name so you should receive an email from them when the road is fixed and the update is available. As for the deadend, they are seeing that the road goes from US-45 to US-41 without any gaps. Can you specify more in detail where exactly you are seeing this deadend?

            Thank you,
            Devon

I’m using a Motorola Droid. My app version is 8.2.0.458. I can’t confirm the exact map version because I deleted it and planned to re-download it, but it had not completed after 6+ hours when I got up this morning. However, I do know that the map version I had when I got the error was 2010.04.xxx. I’m currently using the New Jersey map, version GRD_ALK.NA-NewJersey-114.2010.04.4.5.1.1.

      Hi UncleMike,

Are you downloading the map through Wifi or through Central?

it wasn’t device specific………suddenly now, 3 days later, the map and live services are available again in copilot central….seems there must have been a problem on alk’s end…………………….
