APP UPDATE: CoPilot Live North America and USA for iPhone

Today we released an app update for CoPilot Live USA and CoPilot Live North America iPhone users:  Version   **This is a very important update that fixes the low memory issue that was causing some customers to lose their Text-to-Speech voice functionality.**

Additional fixes and improvements include:

  • We’ve taken into account some helpful customer feedback and improved the experience when using the ActiveTraffic real-time traffic service.   Thanks to all the customers that provided us their detailed feedback!
  • Fixes tunnel guidance mode so CoPilot Live will continue to provide directions and updates to your ETA while driving in a tunnel or underpass.

And for those who haven’t tried it yet, this update also includes 14 days use of the ActiveTraffic service.  It’s absolutely free for 14 days and after the 14 days is complete, there is no obligation to purchase.  If you like the service, you can purchase a 12-month subscription for $9.99 via in-app purchase.  If you decide you don’t need a traffic service at this time or are lucky enough to live in an area that is congestion free— that’s no problem—we thank you for giving it a try!  As we stated you will not be charged for anything.

To download the update, simply go to iTunes on your desktop computer or App Store on your iPhone.

if you have any questions about the update or CoPilot Live in general, you can ask us here!

After the update, CoPilot constantly thinks there’s a new Map Maintenance Update to download. I try to download it, but nothing happens. Is this a bug? Anyone else experience this?

Any news on the Australian variant of this build? The “not enough memory for TTS” bug is infuriating and I’d really like to see it fixed.

Regarding the iPad version, you say free updates for 2010. It is mid November, will this continue into 2011 or from time of purchase?
You do not list any in-app purchases in the app store but traffic is an add on correct? Anything else?
iOS4 will be released this month, should I wait to purchase this app? Will you have iOS4 support?

      Hi Dave,

We will continue to provide free MapSure updates–where we fix your reported map request in 45 days — throughout the life of the CoPilot Live v8 product version. We have an update pending with Apple right now that will provide the iPad version with the ability to purchase ActiveTraffic via in-app purchase. This update also contains a 30 day free trial of ActiveTraffic. We’re hoping it will be approved shortly. We will support iOS4 in a future update.

I hope this helps your decision, let me know if you need any additional information!
