The Apple iPad makes its official appearance

Today the much anticipated announcement landed on our screens.  It’s being described as the “third device” and taking up residence between the laptop and the smartphone.

Meet the iPad.

Here are more details and some early reviews:

From our perspective, it’s great news that existing iPhone apps will run on the iPad, and coupled with the right in-car mount there’s a fantastic in-car navigation experience potentially packed into it’s svelte form (the models that pack a GPS receiver at least).

So the question on a lot of minds today, will you buy an iPad when it’s available?  Cast your vote in our poll or comment and share your thoughts.

Can’t get excited about a computer that expensive that can’t multi-task applications.

It was a busy day at work today. Geithner, Fed Rate Decision, Obama’s State of the Union and Davos. But the iPad stole the show and I can’t wait to see what the papers are going to headline tomorrow. I’m not sure if I need this iPad or even want it yet. I already own a MacBook Pro and a smartphone. Do I need this third device?

people dont waste your money on this ipad it just gonna be another iphone with lack of features. this steve jobs took ideas from microsoft slate. which i prefer new hp slate which has all features of what ipad has and yes can do mutitask. what idiot wants to pay $500 when we have more lower prices readers like amazon kindle for $299 which be more better. has most consumers will not buy ipad due it big price tag and why you want pay for another internet plan for this ipad sorry but all consuers dont was spend more money for something we already have. again get HP Slate which way more features and has all features what ipad have already. also HP Slate is more cheaper in price which cost $299 only compare to crappy ipad which just a all hype again.
